This or that
Splurge or save?
Pick the one you would buy, then see our verdict. 11 matchups, from ballet flats to work totes.
1/11Ballet Flat
Our pick: Save. Get the Dolce Vita pair if you want a black leather flat for workdays and errands. Pick STAUD only if the feel of soft nappa leather is your top priority. See both
2/11Slouchy Hobo
Our pick: Splurge. Grain leather is generally easier to care for than suede, so the COACH bag is the one to buy if you carry a hobo every day. Choose the Quince if you love the texture of suede and will carry it a few times a week. See both
3/11Penny Loafer
Our pick: Save. The Madison gets you a leather lined penny loafer that looks nearly identical, so it is the smart buy for most people. Go for Tory Burch if the scalloped trim and the Double T are what you love. See both
4/11Work Tote
Our pick: Save. The Quince tote has more built in organization and a full lining, which makes it the better pick for most commuters. The Perry is worth it if you want the Tory Burch name and those feet on the base. See both
5/11Tall Boot
Our pick: Splurge. A tall leather boot gets worn hard all fall and winter, so the vachetta leather Goldy is the better place to spend. Pick the Fuego if you want the look without the investment. See both
6/11Chain Crossbody
Our pick: Splurge. The leather Tabby has more pockets and two ways to wear it, so it earns its place if you will carry it often. The Larisal is a fine choice for nights out when you only need the basics. See both
7/11Ankle Boot
Our pick: Splurge. Leather inside and out makes the Mulberry the better long term buy for a boot you will wear most days from fall into spring. Pick Zara if you want to test the shape before committing. See both
8/11Gathered Clutch
Our pick: Save. The Naomi does double duty as a clutch and a crossbody, so it is the smarter buy for most evenings out. Choose the Corrine if you want suede and that gold ring detail. See both
9/11Kitten Heel Slingback
Our pick: Save. From across a room these two look like twins, so the Kathy is an easy save for work and weddings. Spend on the Vince only if you want the sculpted heel and all leather build. See both
10/11Retro White Sneaker
Our pick: Save. The Notice gives you a leather sneaker with the same retro look, so it is the pick for most closets. The Vince is for anyone who wants the slimmer profile and contrast trim. See both
11/11Backless Loafer
Our pick: Splurge. A shoe that molds to your foot is worth the money when you slip it on every day, so the Tevin wins this one. Keep the Rafe in mind as a backup pair for travel. See both

How StyleEditions works
We built this site for people who want to get dressed, not scroll forever. Here is what you will find on every page.
01
Whole outfits, piece by piece
Our outfit boards show the top, the bottoms, the shoes and the finishing piece together. Tap any part of the board and that exact item opens in the store.
02
Dozens of stores, one list
We mix well known brands from more than twenty retailers, so you are not stuck with one shop. Every link is checked and every photo matches the color we name.
03
The clothes, front and center
Our product photos are cropped to the garment, never the model's face, so you can judge the fit, the fabric and the color at a glance.
04
A format for how you shop
Copy an outfit, browse a list, settle a splurge or save, check a rated guide, or build a capsule with a checklist that remembers what you own.
Getting dressed, made simple
Most mornings, the problem is not that you have nothing to wear. It is that you cannot see how the pieces you own fit together, or which one new piece would make the rest of your closet work. That is the gap StyleEditions fills. We take the guesswork out of outfits by showing every look head to toe, with each piece named, explained and one tap away.
Our edits are built around how real days actually go. There are outfits for the office and for casual Fridays, for Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas morning, for a first date and a wedding weekend, and for the cold snaps when you need to stay warm without looking like you gave up. Each one leans on pieces that mix with what you already have, so a single purchase earns its place in a dozen outfits.
We also know people shop in different ways. Some want a complete outfit to copy, some want a short list of the best pieces, and some just want someone to settle the splurge or save question. That is why you will find outfit boards, shoppable lists, rated buyer's guides, capsule plans and interactive checklists here, all written in plain language and checked against the stores before they go live.
Questions we hear a lot
What is StyleEditions?
StyleEditions is a style site that builds complete outfits and shoppable edits for women and men. Every post starts with real pieces you can buy today and shows you how to wear them together, from the sweater to the shoes. Think of it as a friend with good taste who has already done the scrolling for you.
How do the outfit boards work?
Each outfit board shows four pieces together: the top, the bottoms, the shoes and one finishing piece like a bag or a scarf. Tap any part of the board and that exact item opens at the store in a new tab. Under every board you will also find a short note on why the look works and where to wear it.
Why are there no prices on the site?
Prices change almost daily with sales and restocks, and an old price is worse than no price. Instead, every piece has a Shop button that takes you straight to the current price, sizes and colors at the retailer. We do note when a post is built around a budget, like our colorful fall edit for $200 and under.
Where do the products come from?
We pull from more than twenty well known stores, including Everlane, Quince, Boden, Banana Republic, Barbour, Steve Madden, Tory Burch, Bonobos and many more. Every product link is checked when a post is written, and every photo shows the exact item and color we describe. When a piece sells out, we swap it for the closest match.
Do you cover men's style?
Yes. Men's style gets the same care as women's, with sweater outfits, business casual, date night, wedding guest looks, winter layers, boots and a full men's capsule wardrobe. Our men's sweater guide even comes with a video that walks through every outfit.
What is a capsule wardrobe, and where should I start?
A capsule wardrobe is a small set of pieces that all work together, so a few items turn into many outfits. Start with our 15 piece capsule, which builds 24 outfits from 15 pieces, then use the capsule checklist to tick off what you already own. The checklist remembers your ticks on your device, so you can come back and fill the gaps slowly.
